3 months!!!

Well we are almost to the three month mile marker and I can hardly believe it.  Back in November when I was as big as a house and feeling like December 16th (Isabella’s original due date) would never arrive, it seemed even more impossible to imagine being back at work with a baby in daycare.  I admittedly have been dreading the thought of returning to the law firm grind and did my best to soak up every last second I was able to spend with my Issie girl during the weekdays.  Now that we have gone back to a state of “new normalcy” as we like to call it, I realize that my fear and dread was a little excessive.  Of course I miss being with her all day, but Isabella is in a wonderful in-home daycare with a sweet lady named Nina, a former pediatric nurse with two children of her own (who are tri-lingual I might add J).  As for me…my 30 hour work weeks are much more bearable now that I am no longer 9 months pregnant with cankles.  My boss has been kind enough to allow me to leave early on most days and work half days on Tues/Thurs so I am able to spend plenty of quality time being a mommy.
Life with our almost-3-month-old is a blast.  It is so fun to watch her grow and develop into a little lady.  Currently, her favorite pastimes include laying on her playmat and babbling with her friends (a.k.a. the stuffed elephant and zebra that dangle above the mat), attempting to stand while Josh or I hold her by the armpits, and watching TV (don’t worry…we don’t allow too much of that…only when we desperately need a break!).  She smiles and giggles up a storm every time we come into her room in the morning and especially when we pick her up from Nina’s.  Let me tell you, it never gets old!  She is the cutest.
I forgot to mention in my last post that Isabella is now a seasoned traveler.  At the beginning of February we flew to Raleigh, North Carolina to visit Josh’s family and celebrate Steve’s 50thbirthday.  We had so much fun and while traveling with an infant is quite a task, Issie handled it like a pro.  She barely made a peep the entire time we were in flight and adjusted well to all of the new surroundings.  Whenever she is presented with a situation involving a lot of outside stimulation, she pretty much just throws in the towel and falls asleep.  No matter what you do to try to wake her up, her little eyes remain closed until she is back home or in a less chaotic environment.  It’s kind of funny-we call it her shut down mode.  She always employs it when we are out shopping or when we drop her off in the church nursery.
We are getting SOOO excited to move in just three more weeks!  It seems our tiny apartment is busting at the seems with baby gear and toys.  It will be so nice to have some space for Issie to spread out, especially when she begins crawling…will be here before we know it!  Below are an assortment of pics from Isabella’s second month of life!  Much love to all of our friends and family-especially those that are out of state…thank you again for all of your help and support…Issie is a very blessed little girl!!!
